Delete your MakeItLit! account

You can delete your account, and the data that goes with it, whenever you want.

In the app

1. Open MakeItLit! and sign in.
2. Tap your picture at the top, then Edit profile.
3. Scroll to the bottom, tap Delete account and confirm.

It’s removed from MakeItLit! straight away, and we email the address on your account to confirm it (that email is your certificate of deletion). An encrypted safety copy is kept for 7 days, then erased (see below). (Want a copy first? Edit profile, then Download my data.)

Without the app

Email privacy@makeitlit.app from the email address on your account, with your username. We’ll reply to that address to make sure it’s you, then delete your account within 30 days and let you know when it’s done.

What’s deleted, and what’s kept

• Deleted: your profile, photos, videos, prompts and answers, matches and conversations, and the code made from your phone’s device identifier.
• Kept for a while, as the Privacy Policy explains: an encrypted safety copy of the account for 7 days (reachable only through a logged case opened by our safety team, for a safety report or a lawful request), the 7-day activity log, and reports and moderation records until they’re resolved (longer when the law requires, or when the account was preserved for the authorities).
• Subscriptions: deleting your account doesn’t cancel one. Cancel it in the App Store or Google Play (Settings, then Subscriptions).
